Iran films to be featured at Moscow film festival

Iranian films ‘Retouch’ and ’24 Frames’ are to be screened at Moscow Int'l Film Festival 2017.

Iranian films ‘Retouch’ and ’24 Frames’ have been scheduled to go on screen at the 2017 edition of the Moscow International Film Festival.

The two films will be screened at the international cinematic event, slated for June 22-29 in the Russian capital.

‘Retouch’ directed by Kaveh Mazaheri is about a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she just observes the tragic scene.

Abbas Kiarostami's last work ‘24 Frames’ is a compilation project based on 24 four-and-a-half minute films that he had directed over three years and aimed to release in mid-2016 before his passing.

Previously, Iranian director and producer Reza Mirkarimi has been picked as a jury member for the 39th edition of the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF).

Dating back to 1935, Moscow International Film Festival is considered one of the oldest film festivals in the world.

This Russian cinematic event is compared in importance to its other European equivalents such as Cannes and Berlin film festivals.
